Symantha Ann Reeves Pearson

Symantha Ann Reeves Pearson, beloved wife, mother, and sister, has made her journey home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. After a long battle with heart and lung disease, she is free of pain and with her wonderful husband, Alan, in Heaven.

Symantha was born January 20, 1939, in Shreveport, Louisiana, and passed into eternity on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. She was the youngest child of Catherine and Buford Reeves and raised and lived in Panola, Texas, until her adult life.

Mother graduated from high school in Elysian Fields, Texas, and attended Kilgore Junior College in Kilgore, Texas. Symantha met Alan, the love of her life for 63 years, while he was serving in the United States Army at Fort Hood, Texas. Upon marriage in Longview, Texas, they moved to Bloomingdale, Michigan, where Alan was from, and lived there for 14 years, and had their daughter, Annette. In 1973, Alan and Symantha made the move back to the South, where they resided until retirement. Mother worked for Mathews Trucking Company as a truck dispatcher for many years. During their retirement years, they enjoyed traveling full-time with their RV, serving as hosts in campgrounds and amusement parks across the Midwest and Southern United States.

Mother, you led your family well and set high standards. I am forever grateful that God chose me to be your daughter. You stood on principle and did not sway. You taught me well, and I am stronger because of your leadership. We love you, and you will be greatly missed.

The family will honor Symantha and lay her to rest with a graveside service at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Panola, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alan Pearson; mother, Catherine Gunter Reeves; father, George Buford Reeves; brother, Joe Max Reeves (Nancy); brother, John Rex Reeves (Neva). She will be greatly missed and never forgotten by surviving family members: daughter, Annette Kay Painter and husband Brian Keith; grandson, Justin Chase Painter and wife, Tiffany Renee;’ great-grandchildren, Harper Landry and Cooper Drake. Surviving nephews and nieces, Robert Charles Pearson, Gary Alan Harris, Timothy Eugene Harris and wife, Donna, Ronald Scott Edwards and wife, Joni, Terry James Mort and wife, Gina, Joel Grant Mort, Mark Wayne Reeves, Susan Reeves Elzner, John Scott Reeves, James Travis Reeves and wife, Adrianna, Victoria Pearson Van Dine and husband, Dan, Nikki Lynn Pearson and Tina Marie Lemons.

The family wishes to thank the very special healthcare professionals of Cypress Point Nursing and Rehab and Lifepath Hospice who cared for Symantha during her battle and last days. We cannot adequately express our gratitude for the compassion and exemplary care you gave Symantha and our family. We will always be grateful.
