Sylvia Ponder Early

Funeral services honoring the life of Mrs. Sylvia Ponder Early,99, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Belmont Baptist Church in Belmont, LA with Rev. Glen Howard and Rev. Pat Cobb officiating. Family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA. Interment will be held at Spring Ridge Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, LA. Sylvia Ponder Early was born on July 17, 1920 in Pleasant Hill, LA to Tildon and Elma Ponder. She passed away on Thursday, December 19th, 2019 at Mansfield Nursing Center at the age of 99 ½ years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 57 years, Virgil D. Early; son, Kenneth Early; brothers, Warren Ponder, Deward Ponder, Ardvin Ponder, Judge Elven Ponder and Merlin Ponder; sisters, Miley Roberts and Evon Verdin; grandson, Danny Wayne Haire; granddaughter, Kathy Haire Pyle; son-in-law, Don Haire and granddaughter-in-law, Tracey Rambin. She is survived by her children, Myra Haire Walker of Coushatta, LA; Remona Rambin and husband Danny of Mansfield, LA; son, Lathan Early and wife Linda of Shreveport, LA and sisters-in-law, Evelyn Ponder and Maire Early. She was known as Mamaw to a host of 11 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 56 great- great grandchildren and 8 great-great-great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Kenny Early, Michael Haire, Donald Rambin, Randy Early, Tommy Early and John Adair. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Early, Jacob Phillips, Josh Kelly and Dillon Early.
