Sylvia S. Campbell

Sylvia S. Campbell, 86, of Bossier City, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 11, 2026, in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Sylvia was born on February 29, 1940, in Ringgold, Louisiana, to AB Scogin and Lucille Weaver Scogin. She lived a life rooted in faith, love, devotion to her family, and a deep love for Jesus Christ. She was a beloved member of Spirit Wind Church, where her love for the Lord was an important part of her life.

Sylvia loved her family deeply. Of all the blessings God gave her, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren were among her greatest joys. She cherished the time she spent with them and leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, strength, and memories that will continue through generations.

Sylvia retired from BellSouth after 33 years of dedicated service. Outside of her career and family, she had many things she loved. She enjoyed art and painting, and in her younger years she loved cross-stitching and quilting. But perhaps one of her greatest passions was shopping. She could find joy in a day spent shopping and loved the simple pleasures that made life special.

Sylvia will be remembered for her strong faith, her love for Jesus, her devotion to her family, her sense of humor, and the love she showed to those around her. She touched many lives throughout her years and leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith and family.

She is survived by her children, Susan C. Lee, Danny Campbell, Linda Garrison and husband, Richard, and Brenda C. King and husband, Michael; her grandchildren, Brooke Smith and husband, Jamie, Megan Campbell, Emily Lee, Kendyll Rhodes and husband, Jeremy, Joshua Crawford and wife, Lauren, Jamie Taylor, Brittany Crawford, Dusti Johnson and husband, Jake, Crystal Rochel, Tiffany Rochel, Kristina Cox, and Alaina Cox; her 23 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Linda Tilley and Betty Dean and her husband, Homer, along with other extended family and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her two sons, Darvin Campbell and Dusty Campbell; her parents, AB Scogin and Lucille Weaver Scogin; and her brother-in-law, Richard “Dick” Tilley.

Although her family mourns her earthly absence, they find comfort in knowing that Sylvia is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior. They hold tightly to the promises of God's Word and look forward to the day when they will see her again in Heaven.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Compassus Hospice, especially Nurse Sandy and Nurse Amber, and to The Columns of Bossier City, especially Armiya, Sharone, and Cordarius, for the care and support provided to Sylvia and her family.

A very special thank you is extended to Ms. Nancy for the love, compassion, and attentive care she gave to their mother. Her kindness and dedication will always be remembered and deeply appreciated by the family.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 11:00 a.m. Following the funeral service, a graveside service will be held at Hill Crest Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Pastor David Jarrett.

Serving as pallbearers will be Darvin Watts, Brenden Deaton, Aiden Smith, Jamie Smith, Jeremy Rhodes, and Brad Eppinette.

“With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” — Psalm 91:16

Sylvia prayed Psalm 91 every day. Now, the family finds comfort knowing that the God she trusted throughout her life has welcomed her home.

Until we meet again, we will carry her love, her faith, her laughter, and her memory in our hearts.

We love you, Granny.
