Susan Day Cowan

A funeral service for Susan Day Cowan, 70, will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Hurricane Cemetery in Athens, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Officiating the service will be Dr. John Sullivan of Broadmoor Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Susan Day Cowan passed away on September 11, 2025, at the age of 70 years. Susi was born on January 4, 1955, to Mr. William Day, Jr., and Eva McBride Day in Shreveport, Louisiana. Susi is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jimmie Cowan.

Susi was a member of Central Park Baptist Church and was saved at an early age. She graduated from Baptist Christian High School in Shreveport with Homecoming Queen honors in 1973. Being a housewife, animal lover of all kinds, fishing with her dad, and shopping with her mother at every mall in northwest Louisiana kept her busy. She also enjoyed her pickup truck, paintings, and buying food for her pets. Susi was a true joy and blessing from God for her husband, who will always love her.

Susi was preceded in passing by her parents. She is survived by a half-sister, Gloria Utley, and cousins.

Broadmoor’s Gulledge/Morgan B-Group will be honorary pallbearers. Thank you for all your prayers.
