Susan Carol Bickham

BOSSIER CITY, LA - Funeral services for Susan Carol Bickham, 60, will be held on Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time, with Brother Harrell Shelton of Airline Baptist Church officiating, followed by burial at Rose-Neath Cemetery Bossier. Susan was born February 2, 1956 in Shreveport, LA to Billy F. Bickham and Frances Whorton Bickham, and passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 after a brief illness. Susan was a special person to all that knew her and especially dear to her family who cherished her through all of her life's journey. She graduated from Airline High School and played flute in the band. Susan also loved to sing and was known by many as a "songbird". Susan came to know the Lord as a 10 year old at First Baptist Church in Bossier. Her family and friends cherish the thoughts written on a note from one of her earlier counselors, which read "A special person is Susan. God has sent her to us to help us know the Lord. Her presence adds a great deal to our therapy sessions". Susan was preceded in death by her loving Mother, Frances Bickham. Left to hold dear to her memory are her Father, Billy Bickham; sisters, Judy Harlon and husband Terry, Anita Phiffer and husband Steve; brothers, Dale Bickham and wife Cathy, Ken Bickham and wife Alisa and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Gideons Bible Ministry, or a charity of your choice. Honoring Susan as pallbearers will be Clifton Bickham, Dale Bickham, Ken Bickham, Terry Harlon, Steve Phiffer, Tyson Kolb and Jonathan Kolb. The family would like to thank the loving and dedicated staff of Pilgrim Manor and Promise Hospital for the care given to Susan during her time of need.
