Stephen Michael Rogers

He was born in Long Beach, CA to Cmdr. William H. Rogers and Beatrice Logan Rogers on April 6, 1945. Steve married the love of his life, Shelia Gill Rogers on September 25th, 1981. Steve held on to life to celebrate one last anniversary.

He graduated from Louisiana Tech and worked as a mechanical engineer for Arkla Gas / Reliant Energy for over 40 years.  While there he worked diligently to maintain the safety in the gas pipeline industry across many states. He was an active and devout member of Providence Road Baptist church.

He loved golfing and music jam sessions with his lifelong friends. Steve loved to travel and was able to enjoy a couple of amazing vacations to Spain and Ireland before becoming ill.

He is survived by his Wife, Shelia; children - Stephanie Mathes, Melissa Rowland and husband, Jerry Rowland, Murray Rogers and fiancé, Erin Downing, Brett Rogers, Melinda Deas and husband, Chad Deas, Shayne Dixon and fiancé, Katy McLeaish, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Sgt. Bill Rogers.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023 located at Providence Road Baptist Church. Officiating the service will be Pastor Darrell Dean. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Providence Road Baptist Church is located at 11708 Providence Road, Shreveport, La 71129.
