Stephen Harold Mitchell

Stephen “Steve” Harold Mitchell was born on July 7, 1953 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023 after fighting a long battle with cancer. Steve graduated from Southwood in 1971. He was a Shreveport native that owned and operated Mitchell Mechanical for over 25 years. Steve enjoyed all things LSU, Nascar, and local live music. He had a huge heart for the people he loved and always spoke a kind word.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2023 located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport, Louisiana. Graveside services honoring the life of Steve will follow the visitation at 11:30 a.m. located at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd, Shreveport, LA 71109. Honoring Steve as pallbearers will be Patrick Mitchell, Keelan Mitchell, Johnny Ray McGraw, Reese Mathews, Stephen Mathews, and Shannon Blundell.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Betty Mitchell; and his brother, Gary Mitchell. Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Stephen Patrick Mitchell and wife Brenda; his daughter, Sara Mitchell; his grandson that called him “PawPaw”, Keelan Mitchell; and his lifelong best friend, Johnny Ray McGraw.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
