Stanley Hoyt Jr., 88, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025.
Born in 1936, Stanley lived a long full life marked by love, service, and adventure. In 1963, Stanley married the love of his life, Mary, with whom he shared over five decades of marriage. Together they raised their son, Stanley Hoyt, III and built a family rooted in love, dedication, and loyalty.
Stanley proudly served his country in the military carrying with him courage, discipline and devotion to duty that shaped the rest of his life.
Following in the footsteps of his father, he devoted a lifelong passion for aviation. Not only did he love flying airplanes, but he also generously shared his knowledge of teaching others how to take to the skies. He also loved playing golf.
Those who knew Stanley remember his warm spirit, his fondness for a cold beer at the end of a long day, and above all, his deep love for his family. His greatest joy came from spending time with those who he loved the most.
Stanley is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Currier Hoyt and Ruby Ann Hoyt; wife, Mary Evelyn Hoyt; son, Stanley Currier Hoyt; and brother, Albert Hoyt. Left to cherish his memory is his granddaughter, Salenia Hoyt; grandchildren, Lacey Martin, and Toney Martin; and great-grandsons, Brody Smith, and Preston Morgan.
