Graveside services honoring the life of Silas Lee Ebarb were held at St. Ann Catholic Cemetery on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at 10:00 AM with Brother Jimmy Price and Vicar Joel Hicks officiating. Silas was born July 1, 1940 in Ebarb, LA to Evelyn (Sepulvado) Ebarb and Ira Ebarb, Sr. and entered into rest on April 5, 2020. He served honorably in the United States Navy. Preceding him in death were his parents, Ira Sr. and Evelyn Ebarb; first wife, Carolyn Ebarb; second wife, Jane Ebarb; daughter, Bernadette Ebarb; grandson, Michael Shaw; sister, Alda Mae Jerles, sister, Gatherine Smith; brother, Joe Ebarb; stepson, Ramon Sepulvado; and stepdaughter, Angela Sepulvado. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his children: Ruben Ebarb (Lynn), Angelia Hicks (Joel), Denese Shaw, Kelly Ebarb (Kyra), Tim Ebarb (Pam), Sheree Procell (Matt); his stepsons, T. Ray Sepulvado (Carolyn) and John Sepulvado (Karen); his brother, Ira "Punk" Ebarb, Jr. brother, Earl Ebarb, and sister, Evie "Jeanine" Spiegel. In addition, he leaves behind his grandchildren: Taryn Delatte (Adam), Kayla Breaux (Dusty), Mark Ebarb, Brian Boswell (Perla), Reed Ebarb, LeeAnna Ebarb, Tiffany Fontenot (Ashton), Bethany Richardson (Curry), Nicholas Ebarb, Jacob Hicks, Katelyn Hicks, Emily Procell, Sara Procell, Lucas Procell, and Dedra Shaw; and eleven great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members. Honoring Silas as pallbearers were his grandsons: Mark Ebarb, Nicholas Ebarb, Reed Ebarb, Jacob Hicks, Lucas Procell, and Gauge Stringer. The family would like to thank all the staff at St. Joseph Hospice, Dr. Joyce Feagin, Dr. Michael Durci,Willis Knighton North Cancer System, and Rose-Neath Funeral Home staff for all of the care they showed to Silas and his family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to Silas' church, Noble Baptist Church or to the Willis Knighton Cancer Center Foundation.
