Buddy was born in Beirne, Arkansas to Silas and Nancy Andrews on June 26, 1935. He had one sister, Delores Hart of Bossier City, Louisiana. In 1960, he met the love of his life, Rose Mary Dillard, at the local roller skating rink and they danced happily through life together. They dated four years while she was in nursing school and when she graduated, they married in 1964 and were married for 56 years. Buddy and Rose Mary had two children Kevin and Karen.
Buddy worked as a salesman for 30 years for Arkla Gas Company. After retirement, as per orders from his wife, he went back to work as a bailiff in Bossier Parish Court House for several years and was also a member of the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Posse.
Buddy enjoyed wood working in his shop, gardening with his wife, hunting, fishing, collecting and sharing recipes as well as telling stories that he could make come to life with his words. He also enjoyed college and professional football games on the television. One of his favorite things to do was traveling the world with his wife on medical mission trips and going on extended tours with other friends and retirees that were often lovingly referred to as "Blue Hairs."
He was known as Buddy, Dad, Uncle Buddy whether you were related or not, but his very favorite title was that of Papaw. He was an amazing chaperone-counselor on band trips and youth trips with the church, Sunday School teacher, hunting and fishing partner, church choir member, husband, father or grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Mary Andrews; son, Kevin; daughter, Karen Widaman and husband, Ethan; sister, Delores Hart; nieces, Diane Williams and husband, Frankie and Terri Rose and husband, David; one granddaughter, Lauryn Bayleigh Widaman and several great-nieces and nephews.
