Sidney Wayne Poindexter

A graveside service will be held for Sidney Wayne Poindexter, age 79 on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Bienville, Louisiana. Brother Jerry Smelley will officiate. The family will receive visitors Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia from 5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m.

Sidney was born September 29, 1943, in Bienville, Louisiana to Sidney and Gladiola Loe Poindexter. He entered into rest on October 10, 2022, in Eunice, Louisiana. He was a devoted uncle who absolutely adored his nieces and nephews and enjoyed seeing and visiting with them. Sidney loved history, and he loved the LSU Tigers.

He is preceded by his parents; and his brother, Dale Poindexter. Sidney is survived by his brother T.L. Poindexter and wife Shirley; nieces, Terri and Nancy; nephews, John, Wayne, Tracey, Kevin and Jack as well as many great nieces and nephews and other loving family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Oak Lane Nursing Home for the compassion and care that was always extended to their beloved Sidney.
