Shirley Welch Swindle was born April 6, 1936 in Gilbert, Louisiana to Howard and Edith Welch and passed away peacefully, Monday, July 12, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
A funeral service honoring the life of Shirley Welch Swindle will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 16, 2021 at Kings Temple United Pentecostal Church, 8951 Kingston Rd, Shreveport, Louisiana. Damon Magee, Senior Pastor of Kings Temple United Pentecostal Church will officiate the service assisted by Reverend John Berry. A visitation with the family will be held Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will take place immediately following the service in the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, Louisiana.
Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was loved by all. She loved to travel and have fun. A devoted member of Kings Temple United Pentecostal Church, she was a great witness to the Kingdom of God. She will always be remembered for her outgoing personality and her love of laughter.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph L. Swindle; son, Ralph Alan Swindle; sisters, Maggie Opitz, Nell Guillory and Ann Welch; and brother, Harold Welch.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Bobby Swindle and wife, Peggy and Timothy Swindle; daughter, Cynthia Juracich; sisters, Ona Hedrick, Donna Nolan and Collis Ezell; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Welch and Virginia Welch; grandchildren, Shane Swindle, Austin Swindle, Brandon Swindle, Dustin Swindle, Blayze Swindle, Aaron Swindle, Tyler Swindle, Lexi Swindle, Alisha McArthur, Crystal Townson, Shaun Dobbin, Ashley Whittington and Ryan Donaghey; 29 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Honoring Shirley as pallbearers will Dustin Swindle, Austin Swindle, Shaun Dobbin, Jamie Ezell, Mark Welch and Tyler Swindle.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Kimbrough Struggs, Rickey Perot, Ritchie Warren and Steven Dobbin.
The family would like to thank the Willis Knighton Pierremont ICU and Step-Down unit's nurses and staff and Dr. Randy DelMundo for their care and compassion.
