Shirley Farrar Smith

Arcadia - Funeral services will be held for Shirley Farrar Smith, at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2019, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia. Rev. Don Woodard will officiate. The interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery near Bernice. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Shirley was born April 25, 1935 to Roy and Lucille Nicklas Farrar. She entered into rest on Saturday, October 26, 2019. Shirley worked as a legal secretary for over 30 years in Bienville Parish. She was a member of Bryceland Baptist Church for 30 years, where her husband, Harlan Smith, had been the pastor. Harlan was called to lead Cypress Springs Baptist Church, and Shirley moved her membership there, where she was a faithful member. Shirley enjoyed working in her yard and loved her daylilies. Shirley was a devoted wife to Harlan. Where he was, Shirley was there standing beside him. Shirley was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all. Shirley is preceded by her husband Harlan Smith, parents Roy and Lucille Farrar, son Stephen Smith, and sister Dorothy Carson. She is survived by her sons, Gary Smith and wife Pam, and Tim Smith and wife Mary; grandchildren, Britt Smith, Blake Smith, Zack Smith, and Caleb Smith; great grandchildren, Carson, Brady, and Everly; and by her sister Jean Kay. Honoring Shirley as pallbearers will be her grandsons Britt, Blake, Zack, and Caleb.
