A funeral service for Shirley Haney will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Marksville. A visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 in the chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025. Burial will follow at Wade Cemetery in Effie, Louisiana.
Shirley "Mema" Haney entered into rest on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at the Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Rhonda Dauzat of Gonzales; sister, Myrdis Dauzat of Moreauville; brother, William Wade of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Tina Normand of Marksville, Dillion Dauzat of Gonzales, and Michael Cifreo of Gonzales; great-grandchildren, Destiny Rooney of New Orleans, Shelby Rachal of Mansura, Hailey Normand of Marksville, Karson Dauzat, Kaison Dauzat, Abel Dauzat, Hadley Dauzat, Elijah Dauzat, Kyli Cifreo, Maci Cifreo, and Bentley Cifreo, all of Gonzales. She is also survived by one great great grandchild, Summer Haze Paulk of Mansura.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Lemmon Earl Haney; son, Alton Dauzat; parents, Elvin & Ollie Wade; siblings, Ronald Lee Wade, Mattie Cole, James Wade, Thelma Wade, McArthur Wade, and Teddy Wade, Jr.
Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Marksville have been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
