Sheryl Clayton Reynolds

On Wednesday, July 15, 2026, a faithful Christian, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Sheryl Clayton Reynolds was called home to be with her Lord and Savior. She lived a life deeply rooted in faith, devoted to Christ, and guided by the teaching of the Holy Bible.

Sheryl was a woman of unwavering belief, whose love for the Lord shone through every aspect of her life. She found joy in prayer, strength in the scripture and peace in the promise of eternal life. She shared her faith through kindness, compassion and unyielding trust in God’s plan.

As a mother, she raised her daughter in the ways of the Lord. She was a great influence on her grandsons and great-grandchildren guiding them to love, serve and trust in Jesus always.

Sheryl was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Dale Reynolds. Other family members that preceded her were her parents, Hugh and Cloma Clayton, siblings; Lanell C. Vowell, Margaret Clayton, Helen C. Cox, Ralph Clayton, Patty C. Rhudy, Deryl Clayton and T.R. Clayton.

Sheryl is survived by her daughter Greta Reynolds Whitlock and husband Mike Whitlock, her cherished grandsons Justin Whitlock, wife April, Jared Whitlock, wife Christie and Jordan Whitlock, wife Lydia. Also six Whitlock great-grandchildren: Christian, Teagan, Deakan, Layla, Kane, and Lyndi and numerous nieces and nephews.

While we grieve with her passing, we find solace in the hope of Christ’s resurrection and assurance that we will one day be reunited in God’s eternal Kingdom.

A celebration of life will be held at First Baptist Church, Cotton Valley on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 10:00 am. Officiating the service will be Bro. Don Woodard and Bro. Mike Whitlock. Interment will follow at Cotton Valley Cemetery in Cotton Valley, Louisiana. A visitation will be Friday, July 17, 2026, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Cotton Valley.

Pallbearers: Justin Whitlock, Jared Whitlock, Jordan Whitlock, Christian Whitlock, Deakan Whitlock and Kane Whitlock. Honorary pallbearers are Ken Vowell, Buddy Clayton and Dustin Clayton.

In lieu of flowers the family welcomes donations to St Jude or First Baptist Church of Cotton Valley.

The family extends a thank-you to WK Bossier and Allegiance Hospice for their great care of our loved one.
