Sherry Jo Kirkland

Funeral services celebrating the life of Sherry Jo Kirkland will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Cotton Valley First Pentecostal Church in Cotton Valley, Louisiana with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Josh Dehart and Rev. Kenneth Dehart. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Minden, Louisiana.

Sherry was born March 25, 1947, in Atlanta, Louisiana and met her Lord and Savior on June 11, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Sherry was a faithful member of Cotton Valley First Pentecostal Church in Cotton Valley where she was always willing to help in any capacity needed. Above all, Sherry Loved the Lord with all her heart. Her faith guided every part of her life and was reflected in the way she loved others. She cherished her family and found her greatest joy in spending time with those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Virginia Hanson, brother, Kenny Hanson, son-in-law, Kenneth Jones, and niece, Kenya Hanson.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Perry Lynn Kirkland, daughter, Rayla Jones, sister, Peggy Lee Hanson, Brother, Ronnie Hanson, grandson, Kenneth Jones III, granddaughter, Skylar Putnam and her husband Richard Putnam, great-grandchildren, Addison, Olivia, and Thomas Putnam, and numerus nieces and nephews.
