Sherry Anne Gilbert Bell

A memorial service for Sherry Anne Gilbert Bell, 74, will be held at 1 pm on Friday, April 18th, 2025, at Cypress Baptist Church, 4701 Palmetto Rd, Benton, LA. Officiating the service will be Pastor John Fream.

Sherry was born March 3, 1951, in Monroe, LA, to Elvess Gilbert and Lauree Edwards Gilbert and passed away Saturday, April 5th, 2025, in Bossier City, LA.

Sherry loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren, and she looked for every opportunity she could find to spoil them. She loved to make memories on family vacations and throughout the holiday season. Christmas was a special time of the year for her, and she maintained the tradition of reading The Night Before Christmas to her children and grandchildren on Christmas Eve for over 50 years. She also enjoyed baking and cooking for anyone that asked (or didn’t ask…), sewing most of her daughter’s dresses, and crocheting baby blankets that she became famous for. Sherry also dedicated over 35 years to the Cypress Baptist Church in a variety of ways. She worked as a ministry assistant to various pastors and ministries for nearly 20 years, as well as years of baking for the church’s cake ministry, teaching Bible Drill, Sunday School, GAs, and Vacation Bible School.

Sherry was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Danny Bell; her parents; and her sister, Bobbie Rietta Gilbert Counts. She is survived by her son, Ryan, and wife, Holly; daughters, Aimee Pruitt and husband, John, and Emily Fusco and husband, Jeremy; her grandchildren, Landry Pruitt, Nate Fusco, and Owen Fusco, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the wonderful nurses and staff who cared for her at the Willis Knighton Bossier Med Surg Floor, Intensive Specialty Hospital, Cypress Point Nursing Center, and Gentiva Hospice.
