Sherry Lea Akin Dove

Sherry Lea Akin Dove, 68, of Shreveport, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on January 15, 2023. Sherry was born on April 15, 1954 in Jacksonville, Texas to Alvie Lee Akin and Velma Irene Akin.

Memorial services honoring the life of Sherry will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2023 located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home-2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA 71118. Officiating the service will be Bro. Price Harris.

Sherry worked in the customer service industry and was a homemaker. She loved to joke around and was very good at one-liners and comebacks. In her free time, Sherry enjoyed cross-stitching, sewing, painting, scrapbooking, crafts, singing, dancing, and telling stories. She was a Godly, unique, and thoughtful woman who loved her family. Sherry will be most remembered as a wonderful mother to her four amazing children.

Preceding Sherry were her parents, Alvie Akin and Velma Akin; stepmother, Margaret Akin; and son, Steely Daniel Dove. Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Angela Lindsey and husband Jimmy, Roger “R.D.” Dove, Jr. and wife Torrie, and Randall Dove; sister, Sue Green Kidwell; grandchildren, James and Alyssa Lindsey, Noah and Sawyer Dove, and Skylard, Brittany, Julie, and Ayden Dove.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to The National Kidney Foundation.
