Sherri Lee Tucker

Sherri Lee Tucker, 73, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, leaving behind a family she cherished, friends who became family, and a legacy of generosity that will live on for years to come.

Sherri answered that question every day by filling her home with family, pets, good food, a little bit of luck, and an abundance of love.

Born on July 17, 1953, at St. Francis Hospital in Blue Island, Illinois, she made Keithville, Louisiana her home in 1975. For 55 years, she shared life’s adventures with her husband, Roy L. Tucker, building a home where everyone was welcome and no one ever left hungry. Whether gathered around the dinner table, camping beneath the stars, or casting a line while fishing with her family, Sherri found her greatest happiness simply being together.

Sherri believed every meal should feed a crowd. Whether it was a holiday or an ordinary Sunday, she cooked with love and always enough for seconds. She enjoyed trying her luck at the casino, but she already knew where her greatest fortune was found: in the family waiting for her at home.

Nothing brought Sherri greater joy than her family. She was a devoted mother, a proud grandmother, and the kind of person who always found room in her heart and her home for dogs, cats, and the occasional stray in need.

For 36 years, she faithfully served at CHRISTUS Schumpert, where caring for others wasn’t simply her profession. It was her nature.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Roy L. Tucker; her children, Charles Tucker (Penny) and Jennifer Mason (Michael); her grandchildren, Bethany Tucker, Grace Tucker, and Michael “MJ” Mason; her siblings, Lynn Ebarb and Kurt Hardtke; her cousin-turned-sister, Dawn Straley; her loyal and supportive friend, Glenda Garner; her nieces and nephews who shared a special bond with her – Taryn Delatte, Kayla Breaux, Mark Ebarb, Jeanette Mezzofante, and Joey Mezzofante; along with many extended family members and treasured friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Benjamin Hicks and Betty Hicks; her grandmother, Eva Clement; and her siblings, Danny Bowman and Cheyenne “Chuckie” Hicks.

Funeral services for Sherri will be held Thursday, August 6, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd. in Shreveport. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Honoring Sherri as pallbearers will be Michael Mason, Mark Ebarb, Adam Delatte, Evan Delatte, Dusty Breaux, and Ricky Windham. Serving as alternate pallbearer will be Destin Breaux.

Her one wild and precious life was measured not by what she gathered for herself, but by what she gave away: love freely offered, meals joyfully shared, a home where people and animals alike knew they belonged, and a family forever shaped by her kindness. Those gifts remain with us still.
