Shelby was born on September 8, 1954, to Lesla Woods and Peggy Lawrence Woods in Jackson, Mississippi, and entered into eternal rest on October 21, 2022, in Shreveport, Louisiana, surrounded by her loving family after a hard-fought battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Shelby graduated from Madison-Ridgeland High School in Madison, Mississippi, in 1972. She had a gift with numbers and worked in the banking industry in Bossier City before becoming a cage manager at Eldorado and Margaritaville Casinos. Shelby could light up any room she entered and had two passions in life, her beautiful grandchildren and cooking, something she and her daughter Stephanie enjoyed doing together. She will be missed beyond measure by all that knew and loved her.

Shelby is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Pam Sowell; grandchildren, James Looper and Kaitlyn Davis; and best friend, Trudy Sooter. She is survived by her husband, Dan Davis; children, Brad Winstead and wife, Jenny, Brandon Winstead, and Stephanie Procell and husband, Jarrett; stepchildren, Jesse Davis and wife, Cheryl, Michael Davis and partner, Hayley, Diana Looper and husband, Jon, Tommy Tyler and former wife, Cindy, and Barbara Tyler; grandchildren, Emily, Kevin, Ethan, Hunter, Kaleigh, Kimber, Remy, Bryce, Brynleigh, Dustin, Dani, Jonathan, Jenna, Colton, Angel, Jackson, Jaden and Ashton; brothers, Roger Williams and wife, Jocelyn, Albert Woods, and Spence Woods and wife, Trudie; and sister, Evelyn Willis and husband, Tommy.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Julie Reynolds with LifePath Hospice for her care and compassion for our mother.
