Sheila B. Gafford

A Celebration of Life for Sheila B. Gafford, 75, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on May 6, 2023, at Shreveport Baptist Temple, 288 Flournoy Lucas Road, Shreveport, Louisiana. Fellowship to follow the service.  

Sheila a loving wife and mother, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 14, 2023. A graduate of Memphis State University and Centenary College of Louisiana, Sheila was an educator for 19 years in the greater Shreveport/Bossier City area. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband across the country to visit all their extended family. Sheila, Affectionally known as “Nanna” to her grandkids, brought joy to all around her.

Sheila is survived by her husband, Roger Gafford; daughters, Amber Snyder and husband, Ken, and Stephanie Ford and husband, Jason; stepsons, Greg Gafford and Jim Gafford and wife, Kathleen; grandchildren, Erin Snyder, James Snyder, and Ben Ford; and sister, Jane Adgent.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Shreveport, 500 Common St, Shreveport, LA 71101, or St. Paul Evangelical Church, 108 S Main St, Cibolo, TX 78108.

 “For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O death, where is your victory?
