Sharon Ann Spoor was born April 13, 1949 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Charles and Lillie Spoor and passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 3, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Sharon, aka “Mammy”, was one of a kind.  She was a great daughter, sister, mother, aunt and friend to many people throughout her 73 years.  As a young child she was a tomboy and a country girl, then she grew up and was an outgoing teenager and turned into a young woman.  She showed everyone that she was a person of her own mind and ways.  She was called stubborn at times, but she spoke her own mind and would hold to her beliefs. She shared her home, food, and her love to anyone in need and was one of the most kindhearted persons.  She loved her family more than anything and her daughter was the greatest asset to her and then came her grandson and he became her heart also.  She will be missed by them and all of her family, friends, and neighbors.

In her life she worked for Bellsouth, starting out as a long-distance operator and worked through many jobs with the company and retired as a Testing Tech with 30 plus years.  Yet when she retired, she never stopped. She did medical transcription and help with her great-grandchildren.  Her most loved job was retiring early so she could help her family.

Mammy loved to have people around her and loved to go to the ball games of her grandson and then her great-grandchildren.  She was a professional retired, Mammy to all the great-grandchildren and loved them dearly.

Throughout her life she had many hobbies; she loved to sew for her daughter when she was little and did arts and crafts of every kind.  She quilted and loved sharing that time with some of her special friends.  The most favorite of all her hobbies was mowing her yard.  She always wanted a zero radius mower and got one.  She loved to mow almost as much as she loved spending time with family and friends.  One thing she did not like was the mountains, when her sister took her on vacation.  She said she never wanted to go back to the mountains, said it was beautiful, but she would settle for pictures.  Her relationship with her daughter, grandson, granddaughter-in-law, and all 5 great-grandchildren was the greatest thing for her and them too.

Her faith and trust in God made her a strong Christian woman and the relationship she had with Him helped her through her many trials of life.  We are blessed to have had her in our lives and know that we will see her again in heaven.

She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved sister, Sarah Rozas.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Julie Spoor; grandson, Kyle Spoor and wife, Sarah; great-grandchildren, Kyleigh, Wesley, Bradley, Olivia, and Savannah; sister, Nadine S. Owen and husband, Richard; brother, Jerry Spoor and wife, Linda; nephews, Kevin Spoor and Mark Rozas; nieces, Tricia Martinez and Pam Jett; and numerous other family members and friends.

Sharon, Mom, Mammy will be missed by many and remembered by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations maybe made to the Venmo account, @Julie-Spoor-1.
