Farther along, we'll know all about it
Farther along, we'll understand why
Cheer up my brother, live in the sunshine
We'll understand it all by and by
Sharon Dale Jenkins Jones, 81, of Many went to be with her Savior and husband Ralph on February 5, 2021. She was born in Negreet on November 2, 1939. Graveside services will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Wade Penfield officiating. Services will be held at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church Cemetery.
Dale graduated from Negreet High School in 1957 on the same night her boyfriend and future husband of 62 years Ralph Carlos Jones graduated from Florien. Dale was a stay-at-home wife and mom for 20 years and before being promoted to Nanaw. She enjoyed her grandkids, great-grandkids, and had a hand in raising several children in the community. She was also a piano player at several area churches for 60 years.
Dale is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Jones and parents Fermer and Odeal Jenkins. She is survived by daughter Carla Parrie and husband Larry; son Tracy Jones and wife Deleigh, and grand-daughters Danya Titus and Madison Rutherford and husband Chris. She was much-loved Nanaw to 3 great-grandchildren: Rory Titus and special puppy Gypsy, Madden Rutherford, and Karsyn Rutherford. God also blessed her with a bonus family that she touched with her love of Christ and homemade fudge: Adam Parrie and wife Michelle, Devin Mitchell and husband Shane, Layton Jamison, Slade Jamison, Emily Ramsey and husband Justin, and Michael Geoghagan and wife Blair. Bonus grandkids include: Pate, CorLee, Charlie, Memphis, Jalee, Jake, and Jaxton.
The most important work Dale ever did was inside the walls of her own home. She made sure her kids and grandkids were in church every time the doors opened and prayed for them all daily. She shared her love for the Savior with her family and taught them all to recognize that the Lord is walking with us daily no matter what is going on. Pallbearers will be Chris Rutherford, Michael Geoghagan, Randy Pilcher, Danny Jones, Daniel Jones, and Thomas Pilcher.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
