A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana, followed by a procession to Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Rd. in Bossier City. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier. Officiating the service will be Bryan Reed of the Simple Church, where Sharon was a member for years.
Sharon was born on February 20, 1959, in Mena, Arkansas, to Harold Glen and Bonnie Mayo Batten and passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, after a brief illness. She was a 1977 graduate of Airline High School and spent her career working for Disability Determination Services for the State of Louisiana, from where she retired several years ago. She had two sons, Barry and Brian, from her first marriage to Billy Williams, with whom she would later reunite.
On April 15, 1988, Sharon married Carlon Ray Ferguson, and the two shared 31 terrific years of marriage until Carl’s passing in May of 2019. Together, they had a son, Jonathan, and built a life full of adventure, travel, laughter, and cherished memories for all three of the boys.
A few years after Carl’s passing, Sharon reunited with her first husband, Billy, and the two were eventually engaged to be remarried. Over the past three years, they enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, sharing laughter, going to church, traveling, eating out, spending time with loved ones, and binge-watching Game of Thrones together.
Sharon was a loving soul to all who knew her. She will forever be cherished for her deep devotion to her family and friends. She will be fondly remembered for her warm smile, unforgettable belly laugh, love for colorful clothes and flowers, her joy in attending craft shows and shopping, and her passion for vacations, especially beach getaways. While she could indulge her “bougie taste” from time to time, Sharon was, at heart, a simple woman who embraced life to the fullest. Above all, she loved being “Mimi” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sharon is preceded in death by her father, Harold Batten; brother, David Batten; grandson, Brenden Bryce Williams, and loving husband, Carl Ferguson.
She is survived by her mother, Bonnie Batten, of Bossier City; brother, Jeff Batten (Ginger); sons, Barry Williams (Lori) of Bossier City, Brian Williams (Christa) of Shreveport, and Jonathan Ferguson of Bossier City; and her fiancé, Billy Williams, of Benton. She also leaves behind grandchildren, Ash and Taylor Williams, Caleb and Kelsey Krikorian, and Kayla Coe; six great-grandchildren; her best friend, Melanie Lott; her beloved fur babies, Phoebe, Fiona, and Kahlua; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Adam Richards, James Garrett, Eric Walsh, Jeffrey Batten, Jr., Rusty Grantham, and Cody Ginn.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Michael and the nursing staff on 2 North at Willis Knighton North, who provided Sharon with such kind and attentive care during her final hospital stay. Gratitude is also extended to the staff at Carpenter House Hospice Center in Shreveport, who offered compassionate, comforting care in her final hours, a gift the family will always appreciate.
She lived her life with style and sass, laughed with her whole soul, and loved without limits—leaving behind a legacy as vibrant and unforgettable as she was.
We will truly miss you, Sharon.
