Shari Pickett

Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Sharalyn “Shari” Abercrombie Pickett, age 75, on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, in the Hurricane Community, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Hurricane Cemetery. Bro. Randy Ray will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Emmanuel Baptist Church from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Shari was born February 21, 1948, in Minden, Louisiana to John and Ruby Chandler Abercrombie. She entered into rest on July 21, 2023, in Arcadia, Louisiana with her loving family by her side. Shari was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She loved gardening, cooking, and reading. She enjoyed traveling with the love of her life Kenny, to watch Elvis impersonators and going to wineries. Shari was a loving, and caring, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed by her adoring family and friends.

Shari is preceded in death by her parents John and Ruby Abercrombie, husband Kenneth Pickett, and brother-in-law Clay Pickett.

She is survived by her loving children Jeffrey Valentine, Sr. and wife DeeAnn, and Amy Hovend and husband Jeffrey, grandchildren Alyssa Valentine, Jeffrey Valentine, Jr., Waylon Valentine, and Nick Towner, brother Gerry Abercrombie, sister Pat Abercrombie, sister-in-law Jane Pickett, and by numerous other nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
