A funeral mass for Shalonda Batiste Marvel will begin at 1:00pm on Friday, June 5, 2026 at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Marksville. A visitation will begin at 10:00am until 12:15pm at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home. A rosary prayer service will be recited at 12:15pm at the Rose-Neath Chapel in Marksville.

Shalonda Batiste Marvel, age 44, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026 at the Oak Haven Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center surrounded by loved ones.

In her spare time, she enjoyed computer gaming, which provided both entertainment and a way to connect with others. She also loved traveling and experiencing new places, creating memories along the way. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends, sharing laughter, stories, and special moments. She found great joy in cooking and took pride in preparing meals for those she loved, bringing people together around the table.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Cory Marvel of Natchez, MS.; sons, Jaron Hall and Kenny Hall of Marksville; step-daughters, Jasmine Marvel and Zion Marvel, both of Natchez, Ms.; parents, Albert, Jr. & Rose Lee Batiste of Marksville; sister, Felisha Williams(Michael) of Marksville; best friend and partner in crime, Savetra Williams of Marksville; brothers-in-law, Cliffton Marvel (Hattie) of Newman, GA., Patrick Marvel (Brandy) of Winnfield, LA, Ryan Marvel (Latasha) of Ohio, and Brian Marvel of Natchez, MS.; sister-in-law, Alice Washington(Jimmy) of Natchez, MS.; mother-in-law, Delores Marvel of Natchez, MS.; godchildren, Nyla Brown, Asia Williams, Khamaya Jones, all of Marksville; godmother, Geneva Lavalais of Houston, TX. She is also survived by a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Albert, Sr. & Agnes D. Batiste; maternal grandparents, David, Sr. & Rena Curtis Lee; godfather, Jerome D. Batiste.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Marksville.
