Sgt. Robert Taylor Elliott, 39, of Bossier City, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025, in Great Falls, Montana. Born on June 9, 1986, in Bossier City, Robert dedicated a portion of his life to military service, proudly serving with the 82nd Airborne from 2005 to 2013, deploying to Afghanistan in 2007 and Korea in 2010. During this time, he made lifelong friendships that he cherished deeply.
Robert was known for his resilient spirit and compassionate heart, especially towards those in challenging circumstances. He cherished time with family and found joy in the time together. He was actively involved in supporting veterans through book and artwork donations and organizing events at his last VA. He approached everyone with empathy and respect. His sense of humor was a beacon of light, bringing joy and laughter to those around him, particularly on their tough days. He brought comfort, reassurance, and wisdom to those who just needed someone to listen. He had an unwavering kindness and gentle demeanor.
In addition to his service and advocacy, Robert was a fervent sports enthusiast. From his early years excelling in baseball, football, soccer, and basketball, baseball remained his lifelong passion. He was also a devoted fan of the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints, and he enjoyed keeping up with the stock market and world news, always ready to share his well-formed opinions. His life was a testament to his values of loyalty, courage, and generosity. Robert loved to travel and was a strong believer in making memories instead of gathering possessions. He had many talents, which included building computers, programming, and all things IT-related.
Left to grieve this tragic loss is his mom, Jenny Thorn Prejean (Joe Cenko); his father, Ronald G. Elliott, and a loving circle of family members including Ammiee and Mike Morgan, Kathe Newsome, Karen and Fred Green, April and John Jenkins, Mallory and Trey Huffstickler, Cathy Callister, Elizabeth and Martin Zaunbrecher, and many close friends along with numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Charlie Prejean; great-grandparents, Dorothy and James L. Cathey, Jr.; grandparents, Sharon and Robert D. Thorn, Margie and Dewey Elliott, and uncle, Barry Elliott. He was also preceded in death by his four favorite pets, Beau, Allie, Zoe, and Tank, all of whom he loved very much.
Robert will be missed beyond words and never forgotten.

A memorial service will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, Louisiana, on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, starting at 10:00 am. Rose-Neath Funeral Home is assisting the family during this time, ensuring that Sgt. Elliott’s service and memory are honored respectfully.
