Funeral services for Scott Anthony Fulghum, 42, will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Open Range Fellowship Cowboy Cowboy Church in Greenwood, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Greenwood Town Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday, April 1, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the church. Officiating the service will be his uncle, Rev. Joe Newman and brother-in-law, Shelby Thomas.
Scott was born on July 15, 1979 to Sylvia Newman Greis and Jerry Dale Fulghum in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022 in Shreveport.
Scott married the love of his life, April Thomas, and together they were blessed with two wonderful sons. Scott worked for Citi Financial as a loan officer for five years. He was director of the Pelican State Credit Union in Shreveport for eight years. From 2017 until 2022, he worked as a solutions consultant for Apple based at Best Buy in Shreveport. Scott enjoyed watching movies and documentaries and listening to Metallica and Smashing Pumpkins. Scott had recently discovered he enjoyed trips to the gym to work out with his sons and had newly discovered the hard work needed for a good bike ride. Scott even gave the dance floor a whirl after April taught him to dance early in their marriage.
He is preceded in death by his wife, April Thomas Fulghum; his paternal grandparents, B.W. and Doris Fulghum; maternal grandparents, Carl and Ivie Dell Newman. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Hayden Scott Fulghum and Thomas Roan Fulghum; mother, Sylvia Greis and husband, Kenneth; father, Jerry Fulghum and wife, Peggy Bonnette Fulghum; brothers, James McGee and wife, Shannon, Todd Greis and wife, Tamara; sister, Michelle Babin and husband, Buddy; brothers-in-law, Billy Freeland, Shelby Thomas and wife, Summer, Hunter Freeland and wife, Toni; uncle, Gary Roan and wife, Elaine; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.
Honoring Scott as pallbearers will be Brett Davis, Toby Jones, Hunter Freeland, Jeremy Fulghum, Cody Roan, and Canyon Roan. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Gage Berry, Jacob Borden, Braden McGee, Caige Greis, Cooper Greis and Kane Babin.
