Sandra Bounds

A Memorial Service honoring the life of Sandra Townson Bounds will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Broadmoor United Methodist Church, 3715 Youree Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Reverend Kelly Berne, assisted by Reverend David Melville. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana. Sandra was born March 23, 1943 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Edward Thomas and Elizabeth Adams Townson, and passed away peacefully, Friday, December 10, 2021 in Shreveport. Sandra graduated from C.E. Byrd High School, received bachelor's degrees in psychology and home economics from Louisiana State University, and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northwestern State University College of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. She was active in many local organizations including the Shreveport Bossier Alumni Chapter of Phi Mu Sorority, Woman's Department Club, where she served as president, the Shreveport Symphony Guild, and PEO, a philanthropic organization for women. She followed her grandmother, Etta Adams, and her mother, Elizabeth Townson into service of PEO and served as Chapter M president and Chapter F in many capacities including serving on the state board and introducing many other women to the organization. She was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Charles "Chandler" Bounds. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Lauren Parker Humphrey and husband, Brown and Edward Beauregard Parker and wife, Tamara and granddaughters, Robinson Elizabeth Humphrey and Mary McCullough Humphrey. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Curtis, Bob Dennehy, Sam Goodwin, Brown Humphrey, and Richard Kamm, Jr. The family would like to thank Dr. Liu, Dr. Brunet, Dr. Little, Dr. Rokaw, and Dr. Desai as well as nurses, Mallory Parker and Johanna Linn, for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the Shreveport Bossier Animal Rescue, 431 Kings Hwy, Shreveport, LA 71104 or Robinson's Rescue, 2515 Line Ave, Shreveport, LA 71104.
