Samuel Joseph Zagone

Samuel Joseph Zagone, 83, passed away on April 5, 2019. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at St. Jude Catholic Church, with Father Pike Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Rose-Neath Bossier. Samuel was born August 6, 1935 in Bossier City, Louisiana to Lena Shumaker Zagone and Sam Zagone. Samuel worked as a draftsman for Globe Map Company for over 40 years in Shreveport, Louisiana and was an avid sports fan, and he especially enjoyed the University of Alabama football and the New York Yankees. Samuel is preceded in death by his parents and sister Rose Virginia Sullivan. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Higdon Zagone; son Brad Zagone and Nicole Byrd; daughters, Theresa Zagone Harmon and husband Jerry and Vicki Zagone Allen and husband Mitch; grandchildren Courtney Harmon, Brett Allen and Avery Zagone; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Honoring Samuel as pallbearers will be Hal Fulghum, Jerry Harmon, Shane McWilliams, Steve Pennell, Julian Whittington and Tommy Wilson. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials may be made to the Bossier City Fire Fighter's Association, Local 1051, P. O. Box 6479, Bossier City, LA 71171.
