A graveside service for Sammie June Boggs, 89, will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery, 556 Cass County Road 1641 Jefferson, Texas 75657. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana 71111. Officiating the service will be Bishop Frank Alcorn. Sammie was born June 27, 1932 in Philadelphia, Mississippi to Sam and Donie Hicks. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, September 27, 2021 in Blanchard, Oklahoma. Sammie was a member of the Foursquare Gospel Church where she taught Sunday School for 30 years; she was also the church's secretary and brought many youth to accept the Lord as their Savior. Her love reached far beyond any biological family, wherever she was there was always laughter among everyone. She is preceded in death by husbands, Lavelle Alexandria Sandifer and Wilbur Jack Boggs; daughter, Sandra Kay Alcorn; and siblings, Jayne Barnhill, Jean Barnhill, George Hicks and Leland Hicks. Sammie is survived by her brother, Jerry Hicks and wife, Caroline; children, Beau James and wife, Laquita, Lisa Gayle McIntyre, John Brian Sandifer and wife, Katrina; grandchildren, Angela Myers and husband, Rick, Christine DeGarme and husband, David, Melissa Kelley and husband, Chris, Billy Cole James and wife, Pattie, Casey James and wife, Kelli, Jeffery Mitcham, Whitney Mitcham, Joshua Mitcham, Edwin Cornish, Corey Sandifer and wife, Jessica, Saje Frazier, Noelle Frazier, Amadeus Sandifer, America Sandifer; great-grandchildren, Tori, Brecken, Spurgeon, Peyton, Sariah, Sam, Caleb, Kailyn, Seth, Eric, Edward, Micah, Kristian, Alyssa, Emma, Alexandria, Maverick, Jocelyn, Maxwell, Ivy, Aria, Naomi and Victoria; and bonus children, Tommy Sandifer, Mary Lee Hilburn, Frank Alcorn and wife, Sue, James Boggs, Elliot Boggs, Rhonda Edmonds, Melissa Hollifield, Crystal Jaggers and Amanda Burns.
