Sadie L. Garrett
HOMER, LA: Sadie Owens Garrett of Homer, LA, went to be with her Heavenly Father, whom she loved with all her heart on April 8, 2020. She was born in Homer, LA, on November 7, 1936. Sadie drove a school bus for the Claiborne Parish School System for many years, then worked with the Migrant Workers Education program upon retiring. Sadie was a lifetime member of Wesley Chapel church and loved her church family deeply.
Preceding her in death is the love of her life, George Clinton Garrett; and her parents, Gilbert C. and Tama Lorene Owens.
She is survived by her two sons, George G. "Gil" Garrett and wife Peggy of Homer, LA, and Thomas C. "Tommy" Garrett and his wife Kristi of Homer, LA; seven grandchildren, Clint Garrett and wife Ciera, Haley Sayers and husband Cory, Haden Garrett, Hannah Wilson and husband Sean, Taylor Moore and husband Ryan, Ty Hays, and Hutton Hays; nine great-grandchildren, Jameson and Josie Garrett, Brayden Aldridge, Rylee Aldridge, Sawyer Wilson, Quinn Wilson, Henleigh Moore, Grant Moore, and Greer Moore; along with numerous friends.
Special thanks to Presbyterian Village staff, St. Joseph Hospice and hospice nurse, Rhonda Shively RN for the wonderful care Sadie received.
The family request in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to Wesley Chapel Church or St. Jude's Research Hospital.
