Ruth Powell

Arcadia - Services for Ruth Avery Powell, age 94, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia. Burial will be held Mt. Mariah Cemetery in Arcadia following service. Ruth went to be with her Lord on September 17, 2020. She was the daughter of Carrie and Joe Avery. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, E.L. "Bo" Powell, Jr. Ruth was the loving mother of three children, Ronnie Powell and wife Joan of Plain Dealing, Sherry Taylor of Tyler, TX, and Dianne Emerson and husband Roy of Deberry, TX. She was a loving grandmother to; Shannon Harvey and husband Tony, Brad Powell , Jarrod Minton, Courtney Galindo and husband Jaimie, Matt Powell, Mark Powell, Sara Powell, Heather Ross and husband Dusty, and Madison Emerson, and great grandmother to Haley, Shane, Karlee, Brandon, Nicholas, Kate, Anna, and Carson. Ruth worked 40 years at Green Clinic side by side with Dr. Harms and Dr. Luffy. She always loved her job and her coworkers. Ruth had a personality as big as her laugh, and always lived life on her terms. We were fortunate to have her for 94 years. Honoring Ruth as pallbearers will be Tony Harvey, Brandon Galindo, Shane Harvey, Jaimie Galindo, Matt Powell, Mark Powell, Kyle Powell and Nicholas Galindo.
