Ruth was born on November 3, 1941 to Clarence Ray Behan and Blanche Irene Anderson Behan in Natchitoches, Louisiana and passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022 in Shreveport. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Coleman; parents, Clarence "Bunk" and Blanche Behan; sister, Katherine Behan; and daughter, Debra Lynn England. She is survived and immensely loved by her son, Howard Michael Huckabee; daughter, Donna Rae Harris (Todd); grandchildren, Dara Kuhnert (Mike), Tabitha St. Amant (Brandon), DeeDee Thomas (Bernard), Douglas Huckabee (Katie); great-grandchildren, Noah, Haloh, Rebel, Evie, Kameron, Kayla, Mason, Audrey and Gavin; brothers, Lloyd Behan (Georgia), Carl Ray Behan (Vicky), Steven Behan (Janet); sisters, Sandra England (Jerry), Betty Sue Anderson, and Frances Lowe (Johnny); niece/daughter, Karen England; Aunt Helen Roberts; and numerous other family members. At the time of her death and several years prior, her son, Mike, lived with her and loved and cared for her every need daily. He made sure she had everything necessary for an easier and safe life. We would often laugh and ask her if he put a chocolate on her pillow that morning. Mike not only took wonderful care of his mother, he loved her more than anything in this world. She was not only Donna's momma, but her best friend. She told her mother everything. They laughed and cried together often. Her momma kept her grounded, constantly understanding but at the same time giving her wisdom. She loved all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all her heart. She loved her heartfelt visits and talks with Dara and Tabitha. They saw her almost every day of their lives as children, and she loved them like they were hers, "probably more!" When they gave her great-grandchildren, her life was complete. The joy on her face when they walked in the door was proof of that! She was very proud of her family, always bragging about their talents and accomplishments. She was sick a long time. She fought through it over the last year very hard, telling us often that we had to be okay when she goes. She could see in our faces so often that we would not be okay, so she fought on. She loved Jesus. She told her great-grandchildren about him often. Everyone's Christmas card and birthday card always had a heartfelt note in them. Her last full sentence to Donna was, "I'm okay....goodnight." She is definitely okay right now. Honoring Ruth as pallbearers will be Mike Huckabee, Todd Harris, Mike Kuhnert, Brandon St. Amant, Lloyd Behan, Carl Ray Behan, Steven Behan, Noah Kuhnert and Jerry England.
