Russell Meredith Wilson

Today we celebrate the life of Russell M. Wilson, born August 18, 1943 and passed away suddenly in his home on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. 

Russell was a loving father to three daughters. He was a man who lived life to the fullest, loved unconditionally and gave with his whole heart. He could never sit still and could always be found tinkering on something. He had a great love for animals, old cars, motorcycles and racing. He enjoyed watching Sunday football, reading, cooking, telling jokes, sharing old stories, collecting a bit of everything under the sun and spending time with family.

Russell is preceded in death by his wife, Dale Wilson; parents, Grover Lee Wilson “Pop” and Catherine E. Wilson "Nana"; daughter, Cheryle W. McKee; brother, Danny Wilson and sister, Marie “Baby” Wilson. He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Greer and husband, Scott; Alana Bankson and husband, Shawn; son-in-law, Jim McKee; brother, Tony Castillo; sister, Betty Feigel; grandchildren, Kimberly Beckman and husband, Trey, Justin Bolt, Marissa Temple and husband, John, Emily McKee and partner Harvey Harris, Logan Greer and Ayden Bankson; great-grandchildren, Damein, Devin, Morgan, Addie, Benji and Annie and his cat, Merlin and dog, Franklin, who never left his side.

The family would also like to mention dear friends, Larry Mitchell and Sue “Sue Ellen” Callens and extended family at RJs restaurant where you could always find him having coffee and making the waitresses laugh. 

Informal services will be held at a later date by family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in honor of his memory,  to a local animal shelter or animal rescue.
