Russell Oliver Brabham, 70, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, from complications of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Russell was born on April 7, 1952, in Shreveport, Louisiana and was a graduate of Captain Shreve High School, Southern Methodist University, and Louisiana State University Law School. Russell was a practicing lawyer for over forty years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kim Brabham; his parents, Jean and Roy Brabham; his siblings, Wray and Laura Jean Brabham.

Russell is survived by his daughter, Laura Claire Brabham; his brother, Roy Brabham; his nephew, Bennett Brabham; his nieces, Rachel Brabham Beadle and Ashley Nihart; and many cherished friends.

Russell's lifelong passion was music. He was known for his singing and guitar playing and enjoyed playing with his band, Bucket List. He was on the board of directors of Shreveport House Concerts, a monthly concert series celebrating local musicians. Music brought so much joy to Russell's life, and it was his passion to share that joy with others.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, May 1, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Fairfield Studios, 1508 Fairfield Ave. Adhering to Russ' wishes, the service will be filled with music, friends, food, and happy memories.

In his memory, in lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Shreveport House Concerts, Inc., 1508 Fairfield Ave., Shreveport, LA 71101.
