Graveside services will be held for Rudy Grafton, age 92, at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Bernice, LA, on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., with Rev. R. B. Moore, officiating. Visitation will be at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer, LA, on Wednesday, June, 28, 2023, from 5-7 p.m.

Rudy was born June 27, 1930, in Bernice, LA, to Hugh and Lorene Wynn Grafton. He entered into rest on Monday, June 26, 2023, in Bernice, LA.  Rudy was a farm boy from Bernice and graduated in 1947 from Bernice High School. He went on to serve in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean conflict. After serving his country, Rudy returned home and entered LA Tech where he earned a Bachelor degree in Business Administration. It was here Rudy met Annette, the love of his life, and they were married on January 24, 1956. Rudy retired from the Department of Labor after serving 25 years. He and Annette enjoyed 26 years of retirement together on beautiful Lake Claiborne.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Lorene Wynn Grafton; wife, Annette Proctor Grafton; and granddaughter, Dana Carolyn Grafton.

He is survived by his four children, Sam Grafton and wife Carol of Farmerville, La, Suzonne McElroy of Baton Rouge, LA, Julie Ann Grafton of Monroe, LA, and Tobe Grafton and wife Phyllis of Bernice, LA; four grandchildren, Daniel Grafton, Samantha McElroy, Clif Grafton, and Ellie McElroy; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Rudy’s family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Clif Salmon and staff for the care and compassion given him.

Pallbearers will be Sam Grafton, Tobe Grafton, Daniel Grafton and Clif Grafton.

In lieu of flowers honoring Rudy, his family suggests memorials be made to the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, PO Box 374, Bernice, LA, 71222.
