Ruven Reyes

Ruven Reyes, beloved son, brother, father, uncle and grandfather was born December 5, 1954 in Saginaw, MI and died with his loving family by his side on Friday, March 17, 2023 at the age of 68.  He was born to Manuel and Gregoria Reyes. He served in the Marines after high school. Ruven then worked for General Motors until his retirement in 2008. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Shirley Reyes; children, Carlos Reyes and his wife, Meredith, their children, Maddox and Laynee, Andrea Reyes, Christina Melonja and her husband, David Melonja, their children, Jurien and Coleson; and his sisters, Jane Reyes, Maria Trevino, and Martha Hoffman.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Gregoria Reyes; and his brothers, Rudolph Reyes, Manuel V. Reyes, Ricardo Reyes, Jose Reyes, Raul Reyes, and David Reyes.

Ruven was a force of nature determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of his wife and all his children.  He always tried his best to support them.

The family requests that all flowers and notes be sent to Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr. in Shreveport, LA. There will be a visitation at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2023 with funeral services following  at 12:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Rev. Andrew Brewster.
