Roy G Willis

Roy G. Willis, 67, known as “Roy Boy” to his family and friends, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Roy was born on April 30, 1956, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Willie and Mary Willis. He was a proud Veteran who served in the United States Army. He was stationed in Hawaii.

Roy had a long and fruitful career as a truck driver, most recently at PMI in Sibley, Louisiana. He enjoyed being on the road and seeing the country. When his health began to fail, he gave up the road for a dispatching position so that he was able to continue being a part of the business he loved. His employers and co-workers were just like family to him and the friendships that he made were lifelong.

Roy is survived by his wife Florella (Teenie) Willis of Sibley, Louisiana; daughter, Shelly Willis, of Shreveport, Louisiana; stepdaughters Kimberly Walden, of Daytona, Florida, and Crystal Burton (Matt) of El Dorado, Arkansas. Step-grandchildren, Alexis Cook, Ashlyn Cook, Bethany Burton, Logan Walden, and Dylan Walden. He is also survived by brothers, Marvin Willis and David Willis, and sister, Donna Himes (Tim), and a whole host of nephews, nieces, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Mary Willis, and brother, Bobby Willis.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
