Roy T. Martin was born in Belcher, Louisiana to John Dale and Pauline Stewert Martin and passed away, Friday, February 11, 2022 in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Roy worked for the Town of Benton as the director of streets and drainage. He had a special place in his heart for Benton and helped organize many of the town festivals. As someone who enjoyed the great outdoors, he had a passion for hunting and fishing and especially, the Annual Old Spanish Trail Ride. Roy was a great cook and loved cooking for his family and his annual crawfish boils. Most of all he loved his family and spending time with his grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his parents and infant grandson, Jonathan Martin.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 27 years, Gina Hayes Martin; son, Brandon Dale Martin; daughter, Ashley Pauline Martin; sister, Cindy Martin Haley and husband, Bill; brother, Dale Martin and wife, Elizabeth; grandchildren, Bladen, Seth, Tori and Mallory Martin; numerous nieces and nephews; his fur babies, Silas, Angus, and Teddy; and his feline companions.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Old Spanish Trail Ride.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Willis-Knighton Bossier for their excellent care and compassion and to the RutNBuck Hunting Club and the Town of Benton for all of their support.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital, 3100 Samford Ave., Shreveport, Louisiana 71103 or Nina's Road to Rescue, PO Box 1357, Benton, Louisiana 71006.
