Funeral service celebrating the life of Roy “Dean” DeWitt McDonald, 70, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2026, at Henrietta Baptist Church in Converse, Louisiana with Bro. Chucky Clark and Coday Johnston officiating. Interment will follow at Converse Cemetery in Converse, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2026, at Henrietta Baptist Church.
Roy Dean was born on November 11, 1955, in Converse, Louisiana to Arthur McDonald and Evelyn Ebarb Estes and passed away March 17, 2026, in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents Arthur McDonald and Evelyn Estes; granddaughter Renee Lynn Eschete; sisters, Autherine “Tick” Parker, Elizabeth “Liz” Twalt and Louise Hicks; brother, Gene McDonald.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Wesley “Bubba” McDonald; daughters, Angela McDonald and Stephanie Mims and husband Greg; grandchildren, Andrew Mims wife Kylie, Kristen Eschete and Justin Ballard, Taylor Echete Love and husband Chase, Ashton Powell, Tanner McDonald, Tehya Harville husband Cord, Cole McDonald and step grandchild Logan Chadwick; great grandchildren, Annabella, Adrian, Issac and Maddox Golden, Madelyn and Caroline and Olivia Love, Silas and Elena McDonald, Carter Brown and Luca Harville; two great grandboys on the way; step great grandchildren, Brityn and Isabella Ballard along with a host nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and special friend and mother of his children Lynn King.
Honoring Roy as pallbearers will be Andrew Mims, Ashton Powell, Cole McDonald, Charlie Tewalt, Noel Hicks, Noonie Hicks, and Logan Chadwick.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Greg Mims, Carl Allen King, John Henry Brown and Bradley McDonald.
The family would like to give special thanks to Heritage Manor South and Willis Knighton Pierremont for the great care given to their loved one.
