Ross Alan Thoma

Ross Alan Thoma, age 78, died on December 8, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana, after a two-year decline with Parkinson’s disease.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Ross was the eldest son of Otto and Joan Thoma. He spent most of his life in Shreveport, a place he called home.

He is survived by his life partner, Gail Sadoff; his brother, Ron Thoma, and Ron’s wife, Mary; and his beloved nieces, Megan and Aiyana Thoma. Ross was also deeply loved by his extended family of Thoma cousins, with whom he shared enduring bonds of love and appreciation.

Ross enjoyed golf, rock music, yoga, counterculture films, and San Francisco, a city that held a special place in his heart. He was also known for his generosity and his appreciation of good wine, often enjoyed in the company of family and friends. He was known and cherished for his dry sense of humor and his quirky take on life.

Those who knew Ross will remember his steadiness, his wit, and the quiet ways he showed care for his family and those he loved. He will be missed by the friends who shared life with him and by the family who loved him.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

If people choose to make a donation in his honor, the family requests that contributions be made to a charity of their choice.
