Dusty was born on July 18, 1938, in Homer, LA, to George W. and Bessie Scriber Rhodes. He entered into rest on January 5, 2021, in Webster, TX. Dusty served his country in the National Guard. He was friendly to all he met and never met a stranger. Dusty was a very giving person and would give money to anyone in need on a street corner. He loved to shoot pool and had a great sense of humor, always kidding and joking. Dusty had "sweet teeth" for cakes, cookies, or pies. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved making memories with his family. Dusty was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Cathy Ruth Bonds Rhodes; daughter, Kerry Rhodes; and two brothers, Rex Rhodes and Thomas Rhodes. He is survived by his two daughters, Shanon Rhodes and fiancé Jeff Brackman of Athens, TX and Kristi Rhodes Martindale and husband Glenn of Friendswood, TX; four brothers, Ray Rhodes, Fred Rhodes, Paul Rhodes, and Joe Rhodes; three granddaughters, Kayla Derrick, Laura Rhodes, and Sarah Grandstaff; three great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Jace, and Noah; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Jeff Brackman, David Rhodes, Brandon Thompson, and Tyler Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Rhodes, Fred Rhodes, Paul Rhodes, Joe Rhodes, Glenn Martindale, and J.R. Dixon. In lieu of flowers honoring Dusty, his family suggests memorials be made to Sharon Baptist Church or donor's choice.
