She was very loving, kind and generous to everyone she met. Loved her family dearly and went to church every chance, she could. She loved praising God, singing old church hymns and hearing the ministers as they gave the word of God. Every morning and before bedtime, she would read a few chapters in her Bible. When the grandkids came to spend the night, She would also read the Bible to them as a bedtime story.
She always had a smile on her face when she greeted you, along with a great big hug. She might not recall your name at that moment, that didn't matter to her at all. She would tell you that it was so good to see you again and ask how have you been.
She was famous for her cooking. She would get a lot of requests for her 7-up cake. She would always make her visitors feel very special. Would offer her guest some no bake cookies, or broccoli cheese cornbread. Along with a cup of coffee. She knew how to stretch out her groceries to feed her children and made a little go a long way.
She enjoyed fishing and would go with whomever would take her or with one of her children. One time they ran out of worms, but that didn't stop her. She just put her gum on the hook, cast the line back in the pond and caught a fish. True story.
It was rarely a dull moment at her house when her family came over. She loved to play games. One time the family was playing a game of spoons, it got very competitive. So much so that they broke the table, were rolling around on the floor wrestling and fighting over a spoon. Also, if you ever played a card game with her, letting you know that you didn't lose, because she cheats.
She is now reunited with her family members and her dear sweet Mom. We will miss her so very much and will treasure each and every one of our memories. Heaven has gained another "Angel", she has accomplished her goal. She leaves this world with a smile as she meets Jesus face to face. We all have more to go to Heaven for than we had yesterday.
