A visitation for Rose Marie Eckenrode Clarke, 87, will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026, at St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church, 1050 Bert Kouns Industrial Loop in Shreveport, Louisiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m., with Fr. Mark Watson officiating. Burial will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery, 601 US Hwy. 80 East in Haughton, Louisiana.
Rose Marie was born on March 27, 1939 in Wall, Pennsylvania to Michael George Eckenrode and Mary Dorothy Adams Eckenrode Gummo and passed away on July 18, 2026, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
She was a very active member of St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church for 48 years. Rose Marie worked diligently for the church in many areas including finances, the RCIA program (which trains and welcomes new Catholics into the church), as a Spiritual Director (forming the Women's Jubilee Group), organized and directed the Mass of Remembrance, as well as having great energy and organizational skills for decorating the church as needed.
While Rose Marie wore so many different hats during those 48 years, her strong faith and love for the Catholic Church was a constant in her life. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, ingenuity, and a profound love of God.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Michael George Eckenrode and Mary Adams Eckenrode Gummo; husband, Albert Chris Clarke; daughter, Vicki Clarke Manning; sister, Joan Wagner; and brother, Kenneth Eckenrode.
Rose Marie is survived by her daughter, Cindy Clarke Bromberg (Britt); son, Andrew Chris Clarke; grandchildren, Breanne Pendergraft Jones, Aaron Chris Clarke (Jamie); Brayden Chris Clarke; great-grandchildren, Olivia Lee Jones, Ryan Eric Jones, Charlotte Marie Clarke, Claire Elizabeth Clarke; and sister, Genevieve Kerrigan Triponey.
