Ronny Ray Reed

A "Celebration of Life" Memorial Service for Ronny Ray Reed, 75, will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Ave. in Shreveport. A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. until service time. Officiating the service will be Minister Garry Knighton of Church of Christ North. Ronny was born on January 20, 1947 in Monroe, Louisiana to Jefferson "J.D." Davis Reed and Evelyn Lorene McLemore Reed and passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Ronny was a resident of Shreveport and worked as a printer for the oil and gas industry before retiring. In faithfulness and joy, Mr. Reed was a member of Church of Christ North and a member of Sojourners. He left a legacy to his church and family members. He touched each of their lives uniquely and was admired and loved by many fellow believers. Ronnie attended schools in Shreveport including Caddo Heights Elementary and Fair Park High School. He played saxophone in the school band and then attended Louisiana Tech University. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam in 1969-1970. He also enjoyed bird watching and tending his bird feeders. He loved gardening and growing his own vegetables. Ronny is preceded in death by his father, Jefferson Davis Reed, Jr. Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Evelyn McLemore Reed; sister, Linda Reed Daigle and husband, Jim; twin brother, Tommy Richard Reed and wife, Carol; brother, Jefferson D. Reed, III and wife, Angela; and numerous beloved great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and other extended family members and friends. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff in the Emergency Room and the ICU of Willis-Knighton Pierremont for all the wonderful care and compassion given to Ronny. Also, thanks to Wilma Dyer for all the in-home care and support she gave to Ronny. The family suggests memorials may be made to Church of Christ North, 3401 N. Market St., Shreveport, Louisiana 71107.
