A funeral service for Ronnie Flemming Burlison, 80, will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Cypress Baptist Church, 4701 Palmetto Rd., Benton, Louisiana. Burial will follow at the Plain Dealing Cemetery in Plain Dealing. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Officiating the service will be Pastor Tommy Patton.
Ronnie was born on October 13, 1944, to Cabe and Eutha Burlison in Burlison, Tennessee, and passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Ronnie, a devoted family man and pillar of his community, leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and deep-rooted love. A proud graduate of Louisiana Tech University, Class of 1972, Ronnie earned his degree in Business and carried that foundation into a life driven by purpose and service.
Among his proudest accomplishments was helping to establish Cypress Baptist Church in Benton, Louisiana, a spiritual home that flourished under his vision and commitment. Ronnie loved his church dearly—it was not only a place of worship but a reflection of his heart and values.
Above all, Ronnie cherished his family. His unwavering love for his children and grandchildren shaped a life filled with warmth, strength, and devotion. His spirit will live on in the lives he touched, and in every memory shared by those who knew and loved him.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Cabe Aaron Burlison, and Eutha Paralea Flemming Burlison; sisters, Anne Metzler, Jo Curry Campbell, and a brother, Cabe Burlison. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Carolyn “Pat” Benson Burlison; children, Michael Brian Burlison and wife, Monica, Tracy Michelle Lange and husband, Ben, and Matthew Jake Burlison and wife, Stephanie; seven wonderful grandchildren, Blair, Bailey, Bryleigh, Luke, Livia, Jake, and Zachary, along with many beloved extended family and friends.
Honoring Ronnie as pallbearers will be Emmet Oliver, Alden Curry, Phil Noyes, Kelvin Waldrop, Johnnie Woodard, Ben Wreyford, Tim Lewis, and Alton McCann.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Home staff and Bristol Hospice for all of the care and compassion given to Ronnie.
