Ronald Louis Taylor

Ronald Louis Taylor went to be with our Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the age of 81.

Ronald was born in Gilmer, Texas, on September 27, 1943. He later moved to Bossier City, Louisiana, where he attended Bossier High School, lettering as a third baseman and playing the Tuba in the marching band.

He was a 1965 graduate of Louisiana Tech University and received a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Conservation and Forestry. He met his true love, Marjorie Gayle, while attending Tech, and they married in 1967.

He joined the United States Army in 1965, served as a Lieutenant and Tank Commander in Unit 1203 at Fort Polk. After leaving active duty, he served in the Army Reserve until 1972.

Ronald was a true craftsman, specializing in the painting, preservation, and restoration of antique homes. His clients deemed his work that of an artist, due to his incredible eye for detail and precision.

Outside of his work, his beloved passion was fishing and bird hunting. He was a featured guest writer in the Shreveport Times, documenting migratory birds and their habitat in our local area. He loved nature and bird watching, but fishing outranked them all.

Ronald was a long-time member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, The Nature Conservancy, and Duck Unlimited. He was a man of God, a loving husband to Marjorie for 58 years, and a dedicated father to his children, Ashley and David.

Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Taylor; parents, V. Elizabeth Taylor “Gran” and Louis Taylor, along with brother, Dick Stephen Taylor. He is survived by his children, David Louis Taylor and Ashley Elizabeth Taylor; brother, Gary Taylor; cousin, Giles Blalock; nephews, Zachary Taylor, Jake Taylor, and niece, Mandy Taylor.

Special thanks to the War Veterans Home and St. Joseph's Hospice.
