Graveside services for Ronald Gene Plunkett will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Gilgal Cemetery in Minden, Louisiana under the direction of Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana.

Ronald was born April 13, 1938, in Quitman, Louisiana. After a lengthy illness, he passed away peacefully in his home on May 16, 2026, in Sibley, Louisiana.

Ronald served in the United States Air Force. Later he retired from Calumet Refinery in Princeton, Louisiana. He enjoyed hot rods, Nascar, fishing and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lucille Plunkett, sister, Mary Miller, brothers, Marvin Plunkett and Raymond Plunkett.

He is survived by his son, Keith Plunkett (Kim) of Minden, daughters, Rhonda McDonald (Mike) of Newberry, Florida, Lorie Sonnier (Mike) of Marshall, Texas, and sister Sandra Smith (Gary) of Dubberly, grandchildren, Whitney Wooley, Kody Mills, Mandy Isgitt, Kyler Plunkett, Chelsea Wooten, and 12 great-grandchildren.

His family would like to extend a special thank you to Melba Brackin, neighbor, friend, and caregiver.
