Ron was born on July 22, 1944, in Honey Grove, Texas to Neal Earl Bostwick and Geraldine (Jerri) Reece Bostwick. He graduated from Sherman High School in 1962, and he attended Texas Western University (University of Texas at El Paso) on a football scholarship where he was standout defensive back setting several school records. Upon graduation with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting, he worked for the Government Accounting Office in Corpus Cristi, Texas and then he was drafted into the army and served in Vietnam for a year. After that tour of service, he was transferred to the Finance department at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas.

It was at Fort Bliss where he met his wife Martha and her children ranging from eleven to five years of age. He and Martha would marry in 1970. Ron always told his high school friends that he would marry a woman with a ready-made family, but it was all part of God’s providential design. Ron and Martha celebrated their 56th anniversary this year.

After obtaining his CPA license and working for a local accounting firm, Ron joined McClanahan and Holmes, LLP Certified Public Accountants in Paris, Texas in 1973. Ron was active in the Denison community and served on the board of directors of several non-profit organizations. He was a member of Parkside Baptist church since 1985 serving as chairman of the deacons and the finance committee on multiple occasions. He taught Sunday School for over 30 years.

He enjoyed taking care of his four Tennessee Walker horses on his land in Denison and he and Martha enjoyed trail riding and traveling to Dude Ranches in Wyoming. In addition, he and Martha enjoyed their tradition of taking their grandchildren water rafting in Colorado in celebration of their high school graduations. Also, as part of the large Reece family from Honey Grove, Texas, Ron enjoyed and looked forward to attending their annual reunions which provided the opportunity to reconnect with his many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Most importantly, Ron will be remembered for his unwavering faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his desire for each of his family members to have a personal relationship with God through His son Jesus. His spiritual gifts included faith, giving, and teaching. He provided his family with the example of hard work, perseverance, and humility.
